About FTHI

We are a Christian and non-denominational Non-Profit Organization aimed at improving the lives of the helpless, needy, less privileged, aged, and homeless by providing basic amenities of life; Food, Shelter, Healthcare, and Education.

We are keen on changing the Norm of leaving the grassroots at the mercy of “Fate”. It is our joy seeing the hopeless receiving hope, and in turn, giving hope to others; empowering the helpless to become someone that can empower other helpless people.

Feeding The Hungry Int’l was born with the goal of changing lives both spiritually and physically thereby improving their status in life. Feeding The Hungry Int’l is aimed at building a godly community and world at large. Feeding Programs

School Feeding

With support from our generous partners, who donate thousands of naira monthly, we feed children an essential balance of vitamins and minerals in addition to local foods and garden-grown vegetables. We look forward to more partners to enable us to feed more daily.

COMMUNITY Feeding

We provide cooked and raw foods to communities to enhance their way of life and also ensure they eat balanced diets. We visit one community monthly though we intend to do more, Help us visit more communities today, More Communities, More Families – Less Hunger!

Dirty Water Kills

Many common health problems can be avoided by all of us if we simply drink healthy water. Healthy water is one of the unique resources that keeps our body fluids. Access to safe, clean water opens up a world of possibilities for community development. Without water, the most basic element of life, all other development efforts will hit a brick wall – Sanitation and hygiene, working together with a source of clean water create lasting community health and sustained human growth and development.

Water that is fit for human consumption must be clean and clear. It must be water that does not have an offensive odor or color, making it undesirable and unpalatable, and deterring people from drinking it. It must be desirable to drink and people must have confidence that they can give it to their family with certainty that they are giving them water that is fresh, clean, clear, healthy, and safe.

So, what do we mean when we use the term “clean water”? we are referring to water that is safe for human consumption. “Safe” water is also a good definition. Safe water must be free from disease-causing pathogens. But the water that is free of pathogens may still be clouded by sediment.

Cascade care groups

We work with cascade care groups to ensure that the growth and development in a community are monitored and also give room for more empowerment for the community(s) in such that vocational training, business startups, and financial empowerment are well utilized by the beneficiaries. It is also a feedback mechanism where we interact more with each individual/family to know their unique needs.

Nutrition Education

Because so few are able to go to school, the people in the communities where we work don’t know what a healthy meal is. They have no food pyramids, no one talking about servings of fruits and vegetables. They just know they’re hungry and what’s cheapest to find and eat.

We help identify what’s already available in the area, and what grows easily, and then we teach the basics of good nutrition. Women take cooking classes and then they can get jobs as cooks at the school feeding programs.

Men, women, and children plant gardens raise chickens for eggs, raise goats for milk and keep bees for the honey. And then we teach them to teach others. Throughout all of our work, we encourage people to pay it forward.

HEALTHCARE

We have experienced diverse kinds of scenarios in Health – starting from their lack of information in recognizing sicknesses and helping each other learn to treat diarrhea, follow basic hygiene, and make sure they and their children receive needed health care, including vaccines, deworming medicine, vitamin A and clinical services. We intend to build a healthcare center in every community we visit. Health is Wealth.
